This treatment of Ernst Jünger’s Passage to the Forest makes the act of scrolling part of reading. While a paragraph is fully in view, scrolling substitutes some of its letters with other characters. When movement stops, the original text returns. The interaction creates a small conflict between moving through the essay and being able to read it. The web page gives that conflict a concrete form, asking the reader to alternate between navigation and attention
