A periodical that brings critical writing into a layered editorial object

Rock, Paper, Symbols gives critical writing a dense reading format through narrow columns of text. Its exposed stitching also makes the construction of the publication visible as an object. The typography holds sustained passages together across the spreads, while the binding shows how those pages are gathered. The work joins a concentrated reading surface with a physical structure that can be inspected. That relationship gives the periodical a material presence alongside the arguments it contains
